Camera Feed Analyzer

This window enables you to easily view and configure the live feeds from the cameras connected to this client. You can select any of the cameras connected to this Desktop Client from the drop-down menu at the top of the window.

For information about the options available from the View menu, see View Menu Options.

The Camera Profile drop-down menu (immediately to the right of the Camera Selector drop-down menu) is enumerated based off of information provided by the camera. Thus, the available options are specific to each camera. However, the various camera profiles usually let you pick between resolutions, video formats, bitrate, and/or other properties.

The Crop button (immediately to the right of the Camera Profile drop-down menu) allows you to crop how much of the camera video feed is viewed (and thus processed) by SAFR. This feature can be useful when you don't want to perform facial recognition on part of the camera view. (e.g. the camera is monitoring an escalator, but you don't want to perform facial recognition on people who happen to be walking around the escalator)

For information about the configuration options available from the Camera Settings button, (the gear icon) see the Camera Preferences tab of the Preferences Window.

The drop-down menu that's in the top right corner of the window allows you to select the Operator Mode to use for the camera video feed being shown in the center of the Camera Feed Analyzer. For information about the available Operator Modes, see the Operator Modes documentation.

Add a VIRGO Video Feed

Video Recognition Gateway (VIRGO) video feeds are automatically processed as background processes. To create a VIRGO video feed, do the following:

  1. Make sure there is an active video feed connected to the Camera Feed Analyzer. See Connect Cameras to SAFR for information about how to connect cameras to the client.
  2. Click the Add to Video Feeds for continuous processing in the background button (the button pointed to by the red arrow).
  3. You'll be prompted for the following information:
    • Feed Name: Enter any name for the video feed you wish.
    • Mode: Select the Operator mode that you want the VIRGO video feed to operate in. For a description of the Operator modes, see the Operator Modes documentation.
    • Processor: Select the machine that will continuously process the VIRGO video feed.
    • Apply Mode Customizations from Preferences: Enable if you want the Desktop Client preferences applied to the new VIRGO video feed.
  4. Press the Add button. The VIRGO video feed has been created.
  5. A Video Feeds Window will automatically open, which allows you to manage all the currently existing VIRGO feeds.

Note: If you transfer a camera feed to VIRGO which already has a VIRGO feed processing it, then the already-existing VIRGO feed has its Operator Mode and settings updated to the transferred camera feed. (i.e. SAFR does not create a second, duplicate VIRGO feed associated with the same camera feed)
