2 Installation and Use Precautions

1. Install it according to the temperature and humidity environment suitable for the product specifications.
2. Provide earth ground to minimize damage caused by lightning.
3. Do not install the product if there is chemical or vapor in the place where the product is installed, or if it can be generated.
4. Handle the device carefully. Avoid dropping or subjecting it to strong impact
5. If you forcefully install the product with excessive force, malfunction can damage the camera.
6. Be careful not to get chemicals on the surface of the product when installing the product. Chemical solvents such as cleaning agents and adhesive components can cause fatal damage to the surface of the product.
7. Moisture may occur in the glass of the camera when the new product box is opened (or when the product is initially running). The generated moisture is removed by a Gore vent attached to the camera within hours of the power connection.
8. For products enclosed with a desiccant or card-type absorbent, please install it according to the manual.

Requirements for installing SAFR Camera outdoors

Failure to follow requirements below may void warranty.

1. Avoid installing camera exposed to direct sunlight. Use sun shield if necessary to avoid overheating.
2. Avoid surface mounting dome camera directly on an exterior wall - use wall arm mount (SFR-CAM-WALL) or use bullet camera to avoid potential water ingress. Always use a wall arm mount when mounting to porous surfaces.
3. Use of waterproof conduit is required for outdoor installations. Conduit should be routed such that it enters the dome or junction box from the bottom – use gravity to avoid water ingress.
4. Avoid surface mounting to porous surfaces. Always use a wall arm mount when mounting to porous surfaces.
5. Always use the provided silicon grommet over cables entering the camera dome.
6. Install supplied desiccant pack inside sealed portion of dome to absorb moisture trapped inside dome. This prevents condensation inside the dome.
7. Use drip loops in cabling: Create a downward “drip loop” in the cable near the entry to the building or junction box so water runs off instead of following the cable into connectors.
8. Use waterproof junction boxes: Place all outdoor connections (Ethernet, power) inside weatherproof junction boxes with IP66+ ratings. Ensure cables enter through rubber grommets and are sealed with waterproof silicone for extra protection.
9. Seal joint between the camera mounting bracket and the camera housing with waterproof silicone.
10. Seal all entry points with silicone, duct seal, or feed-through bushings to thoroughly seal any holes where cables enter buildings or enclosures.
