Connecting to Central Server
Set up control by single Central Server from Desktop System Settings (or web console Status tab) turning the server into a Subsidiary server.
Can control how much control Central Server has:
Central Server can always see status of connected processors and feeds of the Subsidiary server
Viewing access to the feeds can be enabled/disabled
Remote configuration of feeds and sync settings can be enabled/disabled
Set up of control by Central Servers can be daisy-chained to form tree-like control topologies
Central server displays processors and feeds of Subsidiary servers in Video Feeds window of SAFR Desktop on Windows.
Subsidiary processors are identifiable by "Remote host" name displayed only for such processors.
Subsidiary processors and feeds are configurable of permission is granted by the Subsidiary server
Subsidiary video feeds are viewable if permission is granted by the Subsidiary sever
VIRGA Subsidiary System Config
Subsidiary server's identity synchronization and event archiving (a.k.a event sync) can be turned ON or OFF from Central Server if configured on the subsidiary and configuration permission is granted to Central Server by the subsidiary.
This configuration is available from Desktop Client Video Feeds window under "Edit System Settings" menu item of the processors and feeds residing on the "Remote host".
Operator Role (has BASIC_CONFIG_PRIVILEGE)
Operator is allowed a limited configuration of the systems:
Enable/Disable feeds (event sources)
Change feed processing modes
Turn ON/OFF control by central server
Turn ON/OFF identity sync
Turn ON/OFF event archiving (sync)
Self Signed Certificate Validation
SAFR now supports SSL connections to a host identified by an IP address via built in self-signed certificate.
Self-signed certificate can be customized by SAFR Administrator for additional security / prevention of man-in-the-middle attacks.
Customized certificate's public key must be installed on all non-local desktop and mobile clients accessing the platform.
Connections to named servers (e.g. Cloud) never use self-signed certificates and always require SSL certificate issued by recognized Certificate Authority.
